I'm back, on my brand new used MacBook. It looks dead here. The last I heard the Boundless app was going to be sent to Apple in mid January. Obviously that hasn't happened.

Does the iPad change anything? Will Boundless run on it? Has anyone else written any more stories? I'm full of questions, and I'm really hoping my work on my story will see the light of LCD screens soon.

How about OWL? How about you guys, are you okay? I hope there is no horrible personal reason for the lack of activity here.

Nope, there's no horrible personal reason for anything. We're doing very well as individuals, The company is slowly chugging forward towards the day when we can begin operations, one small baby step at a time.

We had a few major spam attacks, which actually got so bad that we had to close the forum to self-registrations - now, people have to register, then send us an email asking us to approve the registration. We've had over 300 attempted registrations since we closed up like that, and not a single one has written to us asking for admittance. I have no idea why we're such a target for spam, but we are.

The Boundless app is probably within a week of getting sent to beta testers. However, I hate to put a new timeframe on it, as I've been wrong three times already That said, it really and truly is nearly ready.

I think any forum will get hit with spam if it doesn't protect itself these days. Many of them have adopted those Turing Test things where you have to type in the letters you see. The trouble is, I sometimes get the letters wrong because they are hard to read.

Glad to know that Boundless is almost ready. With the iPad about to come out, there will be even more potential customers. Here's to a glorious future!

Wiseowl was close. At this point, I think we'll be sending out the beta this weekend. We'll be emailing out a link to download the beta app. It will be a ZIP file with the .app directory and the mobile provisioning certificate. (Don't worry, I'll email out instructions for loading via iTunes.) There will definitely be some items unfinished (e.g. in-app purchases of additional stories will only be simulated), so we'll include a list of items we know don't work, or work incorrectly.

So, if you've signed up to beta test... make sure we have both items: your email address, and your device (iPhone or iPod Touch) UDID.

Ok... I got it (from wiseowl's email). There's still one holdout (person who wants to beta test, who hasn't given us her UDID yet). I hope she gets it to us by Friday. When it's ready (probably sometime between late Friday night and Saturday evening), it will be at http://www.boundlessstories.com/beta.

All beta testers should have received an email. If you thought you were a beta tester and did not receive an email, send me an email about it! And if you wish you were a beta tester, don't sit around feeling left out, send me an email about it (Obviously, you'll need an iPod or iPhone to play.)
